About Christine

My teaching journey on the mat began in 2008 where I taught at a local gym and then soon after at a local studio called InsideOut Body Therapies. In 2010 I completed my 200 hour RYT Training at Franklin Street Yoga Center in Chapel Hill, NC. Later that year, I also completed a 50 hour certification with Doug Swenson in Sadhana Yoga Chi. That same year, my teaching journey led me to the path of partnering with several others to open up a cycling and yoga studio, in Durham, NC which I co-ran for two years.

Many inspiring teachers over the years have helped mold me into the teacher and person I am today.  We take the journey together on our mats -- wherever that journey takes us, we are connected. Your life is happening right now. Make it amazing!

A good day is one where I have not rushed through life, I am pain free, I am feeling strong, I have connected with nature, I have moved on my mat, walked outside, I have connected with others, and I have also had down time to connect with myself.

Q + A

My favorite view…

watching the sunset at the ocean - there are no two alike.

Morning ritual…

meditate.

A good day is…

one where I have not rushed through life, I am pain free, I am feeling strong, I have connected with nature, I have moved on my mat and/or walked outside, I have connected with others, and I have also had down time to connect with myself.

Last thing you do at night…

give Calla a pat/hug, kiss Ryan good night and put my eye mask on.

What 3 things are vital to your day…

quiet time, movement and interaction with others.

How do you unwind…

hot bath, meditation, reading a good book, a cup of tea, light movement.

What was your dream job as a child…

I believe it was to be a hair stylist when I was very young, and then a marine biologist after that.

Who is your greatest mentor…

my mother, as a single parent balancing a career as a doctor and raising me, I am in awe of all that she embodies. I look up to who she was and who she is today. She has guided, inspired, loved, supported and lifted me up throughout life (and continues to do so.) The lessons she has taught me, and continues to do so have all been invaluable. She has helped shape me into the woman I am today.

Biggest risk that has paid off…

leaving the corporate world to pursue my own passion of teaching yoga and sharing this love with others through the practice of yoga, life lesson, my writing and now via my 5-week series, Journey Into Self.
