Cathy was first introduced to yoga when she stumbled upon a (very hot) vinyasa class at a local gym while residing in Maryland. Like most, she was initially attracted to the physical benefits of a yoga class, but gradually developed an appreciation as well as passion for the practice and its transformational effects both on and off the mat. Over the years, the experience on her mat has pulled her safely through the lowest of lows and kept her grounded through the highest of highs. Yoga has now become more of a lifestyle and she is constantly in awe of how much you can gain from challenging yourself mentally & physically.
Cathy completed her 200-hour training through CorePower Yoga in Raleigh and teaches various class formats including power flow, hot yoga, and yoga sculpt. Due to her healthcare training & science background, Cathy strives to emphasize safe alignment as well as the rationale behind poses and sequences during class. Outside of the studio, she works in Research Triangle Park and enjoys hiking, traveling, exploring new places/things to try, and all the other great things NC has to offer.
